Description

A decadent mashup of a classic bacon cheeseburger and grilled cheese sandwich, loaded with juicy ground beef, crispy bacon, melted cheddar, and gooey American cheese between buttery toasted bread.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 8 slices thick-cut bacon, cooked crispy
  • 8 slices sandwich bread (Texas toast or sourdough recommended)
  • 4 tbsp butter, softened
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 1/2 cup caramelized onions (optional)
  • Pickles or ketchup/mustard (optional, for serving)


Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease and set aside.
  2. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  3. On the unbuttered side of 4 slices, layer cheddar cheese, ground beef, bacon, and American cheese. Add caramelized onions if using.
  4. Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side facing out.
  5. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-low heat. Cook sandwiches 3–4 minutes per side until bread is golden brown and cheese is melted.
  6. Slice in half and serve hot with pickles, ketchup, or mustard if desired.
