A hearty and comforting meal featuring crispy-skinned baked potatoes topped with tender, garlicky butter steak bites for a simple yet indulgent dinner.


Ingredients

  • 4 large russet potatoes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 1/4 lbs sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt (for steak)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper (for steak)
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Sour cream, for serving (optional)
  • Shredded cheddar cheese, for topping (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Scrub potatoes, pat dry, rub with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper. Place directly on oven rack and bake for 50–60 minutes until tender.
  2. Season steak bites with paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with a splash of oil. Add steak in a single layer and sear for 2–3 minutes per side until browned.
  4. Add butter and garlic to the pan and toss the steak bites until coated and fragrant, about 1 minute. Remove from heat and sprinkle with parsley.
  5. Once the potatoes are cooked, slice open and fluff the inside with a fork.
  6. Top each baked potato with garlic butter steak bites, then finish with sour cream or shredded cheese if desired.

Notes

  • For crispier skin, bake potatoes on a baking sheet lined with coarse salt.
  • Use ribeye for extra tenderness.
  • Add sautéed mushrooms or caramelized onions for more flavor.
