Description
Soft, chewy chocolate chip cookies loaded with gooey caramel bits for the perfect sweet and indulgent treat.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup caramel bits (or chopped soft caramels)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix into wet ingredients.
- Fold in chocolate chips and caramel bits.
- Scoop dough into 2-tablespoon portions and place on baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
- Bake 10–12 minutes, until edges are golden but centers are still soft.
- Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- Sprinkle cookies with sea salt before baking for a salted caramel version.
- Chill dough for 30 minutes for thicker cookies.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
