Description
Moist and tangy lemon brownies topped with a sweet lemon glaze, combining the fudgy texture of brownies with the bright flavor of lemon.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp lemon zest
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2–3 tbsp lemon juice (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs, lemon juice, lemon zest, and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add dry mixture to wet ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until edges are golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean.
- Cool completely before glazing.
- For the glaze: whisk powdered sugar with lemon juice until smooth. Spread evenly over cooled brownies.
- Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
- For extra tang, add more lemon zest to the batter.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes after glazing for a cleaner cut.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
