Description

A hearty brisket sandwich made with tender, slow-cooked beef brisket piled onto toasted cheese sourdough bread for a rich and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • 600 g beef brisket, cooked and sliced
  • 4 slices sourdough bread
  • 4 slices cheddar or Swiss cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup beef broth or brisket jus
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté the sliced onion until soft and lightly caramelized.
  2. Add the sliced brisket, beef broth or jus, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until warmed and flavorful.
  3. Butter one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
  4. Place two slices of bread butter-side down on a skillet. Top each with cheese, brisket mixture, additional cheese, and remaining bread slices butter-side up.
  5. Toast on medium heat until the bread is golden and crispy and the cheese is fully melted, flipping once.
  6. Remove from heat, slice if desired, and serve hot.

Notes

  • Leftover smoked brisket works perfectly for this recipe.
  • Add pickles or caramelized onions for extra flavor.
  • Serve with coleslaw or fries for a complete meal.
