Description

Burgers with Extra Melted Cheese are juicy beef patties grilled or pan-seared and topped with generous layers of perfectly melted cheese for an indulgent, classic burger experience.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 burger buns
  • 8 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for buns)
  • Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles

Instructions

  1. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, gently mix ground beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Divide the meat into 4 equal portions and shape into patties.
  4. Cook patties for 3–4 minutes per side, or until desired doneness.
  5. Place 2 slices of cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking and cover to melt.
  6. Butter the buns and toast lightly on the grill or skillet.
  7. Assemble burgers with patties and optional toppings.
  8. Serve immediately while cheese is extra melted.

Notes

  • Covering the pan helps the cheese melt faster.
  • Use American or cheddar cheese for the best melt.
  • Do not overwork the beef to keep burgers juicy.
