Ingredients

  • 250 g all-purpose flour
  • 200 g unsalted butter (softened)
  • 200 g granulated sugar
  • 5 large eggs
  • 240 ml evaporated milk
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 170°C (340°F) and grease a cake pan.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, nutmeg, and salt.
  6. Add the dry ingredients to the batter alternately with the evaporated milk, mixing gently.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  8. Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Remove from oven, allow to cool, then serve.
