Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs sirloin or ribeye steak
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 2 fresh jalapeños, sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Fresh chopped cilantro or parsley for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Pat the steak dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear steak for 4–5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness is reached.
  4. Reduce heat to low, add butter, and spoon it over the steak.
  5. Sprinkle cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese evenly over the steak.
  6. Add sliced jalapeños on top.
  7. Cover the skillet and cook for 1–2 minutes until cheese is fully melted.
  8. Remove from heat, garnish if desired, and serve hot.

Notes

  • Remove jalapeño seeds for less heat.
  • Let steak rest for 5 minutes before serving.
