Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs sirloin or ribeye steak
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 2 fresh jalapeños, sliced
- 2 tbsp butter
- Fresh chopped cilantro or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Pat the steak dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear steak for 4–5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness is reached.
- Reduce heat to low, add butter, and spoon it over the steak.
- Sprinkle cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese evenly over the steak.
- Add sliced jalapeños on top.
- Cover the skillet and cook for 1–2 minutes until cheese is fully melted.
- Remove from heat, garnish if desired, and serve hot.
Notes
- Remove jalapeño seeds for less heat.
- Let steak rest for 5 minutes before serving.
- Serve with roasted vegetables or cauliflower rice.
