Description
Homemade chicken parmesan hot pockets filled with crispy chicken, marinara sauce, and gooey mozzarella cheese wrapped in golden pastry for a handheld comfort food classic.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 package refrigerated pizza dough (or puff pastry)
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, for brushing)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix shredded chicken with marinara sauce, mozzarella, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Roll out pizza dough and cut into 6–8 equal rectangles.
- Spoon chicken mixture onto one half of each rectangle, leaving edges clear.
- Fold dough over filling and press edges with a fork to seal.
- Brush tops with egg wash and lightly brush with olive oil if desired.
- Bake for 18–20 minutes, until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Can be made ahead and frozen before baking. Bake from frozen, adding 5–7 extra minutes.
- Use rotisserie chicken for a quick shortcut.
- Serve with extra marinara sauce for dipping.
