Description
A delicious fusion pizza topped with juicy chimichurri steak, melted Asiago and fresh mozzarella cheeses, and a burst of fresh herbs, perfect for steak lovers.
Ingredients
- 1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup chimichurri sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup fresh mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup Asiago cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp balsamic glaze (optional, for drizzling)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, preheat it in the oven as well.
- Season the flank steak with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the steak slices and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, until the steak is cooked to your desired level of doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain.
- Roll out the pizza dough onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet or a pizza stone. Brush the dough lightly with olive oil.
- Spread a thin layer of chimichurri sauce over the pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edges for the crust.
- Evenly distribute the shredded mozzarella and Asiago cheeses over the pizza. Arrange the thinly sliced steak on top, followed by the sliced red onions.
- Transfer the pizza to the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and melted.
- Once out of the oven, drizzle with balsamic glaze (if desired) and sprinkle with chopped fresh cilantro.
- Slice and serve hot!
Notes
- This pizza is perfect for those who love bold flavors and a bit of heat. Add extra crushed red pepper flakes if you prefer more spice.
- You can make your own chimichurri sauce for a fresh and tangy twist, or use store-bought sauce for convenience.
- For a vegetarian option, you can substitute the steak with grilled vegetables like bell peppers, zucchini, and mushrooms.
