Description
Flaky pastry hand pies filled with a creamy chocolate Oreo filling, baked until golden, and topped with a drizzle of chocolate or powdered sugar.
Ingredients
- 1 package refrigerated pie crusts (2 crusts)
- 12 Oreo cookies, crushed
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 2 tbsp milk (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar or melted chocolate (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla until smooth. Stir in crushed Oreos.
- Roll out pie crusts and cut into 4–5 inch circles.
- Place 1–2 tablespoons of Oreo filling in the center of each circle. Fold over and press edges with a fork to seal.
- Whisk egg and milk together to make egg wash. Brush over tops of pies.
- Bake for 18–20 minutes, until golden brown.
- Cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with melted chocolate before serving.
Notes
- For extra indulgence, add mini chocolate chips to the filling.
- These can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for a decadent dessert.
