Description

A rich and comforting pasta dish made with tender ground beef, bowtie pasta, and a creamy tomato-based sauce, topped with Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz bowtie (farfalle) pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook bowtie pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-6 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onion and garlic to the skillet and sauté until softened, about 3 minutes.
  4. Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Lower heat and stir in heavy cream. Simmer gently until sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
  6. Add cooked bowtie pasta to the skillet and toss until coated with the creamy sauce.
  7. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • For extra flavor, add red pepper flakes for a slight kick.
  • Can be made ahead and reheated; sauce may thicken, so add a splash of cream or milk when reheating.
  • Pairs well with garlic bread and a side salad.
