Description
A hearty slow-cooked steak and potato bake made in the crockpot, loaded with cheese, bacon, and seasoning for a comforting, all-in-one meal.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs steak (sirloin or chuck), cut into bite-sized cubes
- 6 medium russet potatoes, diced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1/2 cup green onions, sliced
- 1/2 cup sour cream (for serving)
Instructions
- Grease the inside of the crockpot with olive oil or nonstick spray.
- Layer half of the diced potatoes, onions, and steak cubes into the crockpot.
- Season with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese and bacon over the layer.
- Repeat with remaining potatoes, onions, steak, seasoning, cheese, and bacon.
- Cover and cook on Low for 6–7 hours or on High for 3–4 hours, until potatoes are tender and steak is cooked through.
- Top with green onions before serving.
- Serve hot with a dollop of sour cream if desired.
Notes
- For extra richness, drizzle with ranch dressing before serving.
- You can substitute sweet potatoes for a different flavor profile.
- Use a well-marbled cut of steak for the most tender results.
- Cook bacon ahead of time to keep it crisp when layered.
