Description

A hearty slow-cooked steak and potato bake made in the crockpot, loaded with cheese, bacon, and seasoning for a comforting, all-in-one meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs steak (sirloin or chuck), cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 6 medium russet potatoes, diced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 cup green onions, sliced
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Grease the inside of the crockpot with olive oil or nonstick spray.
  2. Layer half of the diced potatoes, onions, and steak cubes into the crockpot.
  3. Season with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese and bacon over the layer.
  5. Repeat with remaining potatoes, onions, steak, seasoning, cheese, and bacon.
  6. Cover and cook on Low for 6–7 hours or on High for 3–4 hours, until potatoes are tender and steak is cooked through.
  7. Top with green onions before serving.
  8. Serve hot with a dollop of sour cream if desired.

Notes

  • For extra richness, drizzle with ranch dressing before serving.
  • You can substitute sweet potatoes for a different flavor profile.
  • Use a well-marbled cut of steak for the most tender results.
  • Cook bacon ahead of time to keep it crisp when layered.
