Ingredients

  • 1 box brownie mix (plus ingredients listed on package)
  • 3 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (plus extra for topping)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional, for garnish)
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. Prepare brownie mix according to package directions. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 20–25 minutes, until just set but not fully cooked. Let cool slightly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing on low until combined. Stir in sour cream and vanilla extract.
  5. Pour half of the cheesecake batter over the cooled brownie base.
  6. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the cheesecake layer and gently swirl with a knife.
  7. Pour remaining cheesecake batter on top and smooth the surface.
  8. Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until the center is set but slightly jiggly.
  9. Turn off oven, crack door open, and let cheesecake cool inside for 1 hour.
  10. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.
