Description
A hearty, family-friendly casserole combining tender noodles, seasoned sloppy joe meat, and melted cheese for an easy, comforting weeknight meal.
Ingredients
- 8 oz egg noodles
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) sloppy joe sauce
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish.
- Cook egg noodles according to package directions, drain, and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add diced onion, garlic, and bell pepper; cook until vegetables soften.
- Stir in sloppy joe sauce, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Combine the cooked noodles with the sloppy joe mixture and stir until evenly coated.
- Transfer mixture to the baking dish and top with cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use rotini or penne noodles if egg noodles aren’t available.
- Add corn or diced tomatoes for extra texture.
- Top with pickles or green onions when serving for classic sloppy joe flavor.
