Description

A hearty, family-friendly casserole combining tender noodles, seasoned sloppy joe meat, and melted cheese for an easy, comforting weeknight meal.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) sloppy joe sauce
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish.
  2. Cook egg noodles according to package directions, drain, and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Add diced onion, garlic, and bell pepper; cook until vegetables soften.
  5. Stir in sloppy joe sauce, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Combine the cooked noodles with the sloppy joe mixture and stir until evenly coated.
  7. Transfer mixture to the baking dish and top with cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
  8. Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use rotini or penne noodles if egg noodles aren’t available.
  • Add corn or diced tomatoes for extra texture.
  • Top with pickles or green onions when serving for classic sloppy joe flavor.
