Description
Tender bite-sized beef cubes seared in rich garlic butter and served over smooth, creamy mashed potatoes for a comforting and flavorful meal.
Ingredients
- 500 g beef sirloin, cut into bite-sized cubes
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 tbsp butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)
- 1 kg potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1/2 cup milk (warm)
- 2 tbsp butter (for mashed potatoes)
Instructions
- Boil potatoes in salted water for 15–20 minutes until fork-tender. Drain well.
- Mash potatoes with butter and warm milk until smooth and creamy. Season lightly with salt and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Season beef cubes with salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme.
- Sear beef in the hot skillet for 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Lower heat and add butter to the skillet.
- Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Return beef to the skillet and toss to coat evenly in garlic butter.
- Serve beef bites over creamy mashed potatoes and garnish with parsley.
Notes
- Do not overcrowd the pan to achieve a good sear on the beef.
- Use Yukon Gold potatoes for extra creamy mashed potatoes.
- Add a splash of cream for richer mashed potatoes if desired.
