Creamy Garlic Butter Chicken & Linguine in Alfredo Sauce is an indulgent, restaurant-quality pasta dish featuring juicy seared chicken tossed with linguine in a rich, homemade Alfredo sauce. The combination of garlic, butter, and Parmesan makes every bite silky, savory, and comforting.
Ingredients
- 12 oz linguine pasta
- 1 1/2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, divided
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook linguine according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
- Season chicken with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil and 1 tbsp butter over medium-high heat. Sear chicken breasts for 5–6 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature 165°F / 74°C). Remove from skillet and let rest, then slice thinly.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and melt remaining 2 tbsp butter. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream and milk, stirring to combine. Simmer for 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese, whisking until melted and smooth. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired.
- Add cooked linguine to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Add reserved pasta water a little at a time to loosen if needed.
- Top with sliced chicken and garnish with chopped parsley. Serve warm with extra Parmesan on the side.
Notes
- Use freshly grated Parmesan — pre-shredded cheese can make the sauce grainy.
- For added flavor, deglaze the pan with a splash of white wine before adding cream.
