Description

Creamy Garlic Butter Chicken & Linguine in Alfredo Sauce is an indulgent, restaurant-quality pasta dish featuring juicy seared chicken tossed with linguine in a rich, homemade Alfredo sauce. The combination of garlic, butter, and Parmesan makes every bite silky, savory, and comforting.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz linguine pasta
  • 1 1/2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Cook linguine according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  2. Season chicken with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and 1 tbsp butter over medium-high heat. Sear chicken breasts for 5–6 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature 165°F / 74°C). Remove from skillet and let rest, then slice thinly.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and melt remaining 2 tbsp butter. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in heavy cream and milk, stirring to combine. Simmer for 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Stir in Parmesan cheese, whisking until melted and smooth. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired.
  7. Add cooked linguine to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Add reserved pasta water a little at a time to loosen if needed.
  8. Top with sliced chicken and garnish with chopped parsley. Serve warm with extra Parmesan on the side.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan — pre-shredded cheese can make the sauce grainy.
  • For added flavor, deglaze the pan with a splash of white wine before adding cream.
  • Pair with garlic bread or a fresh Caesar salad for a complete meal.
