Description

A rich and creamy homemade vanilla ice cream made with simple ingredients, perfect for a classic frozen treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until sugar is dissolved.
  2. Pour mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions, usually 20–25 minutes, until thick and creamy.
  3. Transfer ice cream to a freezer-safe container, cover, and freeze for at least 2–4 hours to firm up.
  4. Scoop and serve with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use vanilla bean paste instead of vanilla extract.
  • You can add mix-ins like chocolate chips, crushed cookies, or fruit during the last 5 minutes of churning.
  • No ice cream maker? Pour mixture into a dish, freeze, and stir every 30 minutes until creamy.
