Description
A hearty, family-friendly casserole that combines all the bold flavors of a meat lovers pizza—savory sausage, pepperoni, ground beef, rich tomato sauce, pasta, and plenty of melted cheese—baked into a comforting one-dish meal.
Ingredients
- 12 oz cooked penne or rotini pasta
- 1 lb ground beef
- 8 oz beef sausage, sliced
- 1 cup beef pepperoni slices
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups marinara or pizza sauce
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
- Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add ground beef and sausage, cooking until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in pepperoni, marinara sauce, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer sauce for 5 minutes, then remove from heat.
- In a large bowl, combine cooked pasta with meat sauce.
- Transfer mixture to a greased baking dish.
- Top evenly with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use your favorite pizza toppings such as olives or mushrooms for variation.
- This casserole can be made ahead and refrigerated before baking.
- Leftovers reheat well and make a great next-day meal.
