Ingredients
- 4 medium potatoes, peeled and grated
- 1 small onion, grated
- 1 large egg
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or mozzarella)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Place grated potatoes in a clean towel and squeeze out excess moisture. Transfer to a bowl and mix with grated onion, egg, flour, salt, and pepper.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Spoon potato mixture into small patties and flatten slightly. Fry for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In another skillet, cook ground beef with chopped onion and garlic until browned, about 6-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in tomato sauce, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Top each potato pancake with a spoonful of beef mixture and sprinkle with shredded cheese.
- Place under the broiler for 2-3 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.

- For extra flavor, add a dash of Worcestershire sauce to the beef mixture.
