Description

Ribeye Steak Bites and Cheesy Smashed Potatoes is a hearty, comforting meal featuring juicy, pan-seared ribeye steak pieces served alongside crispy smashed potatoes loaded with melted cheese and butter.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb (700 g) ribeye steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1.5 lb (700 g) baby potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for potatoes)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (for potatoes)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).
  2. Boil baby potatoes in salted water for 15–20 minutes until fork-tender, then drain.
  3. Place potatoes on a baking sheet, gently smash each one, drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Bake potatoes for 20 minutes until crispy, then remove and top with cheddar and Parmesan cheese. Add butter and return to oven for 5 minutes until cheese is melted.
  5. Meanwhile, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. Add ribeye steak bites in a single layer and sear for 2–3 minutes per side until browned.
  7. Add butter, garlic, and smoked paprika to the skillet and toss steak bites for 1 minute until fragrant.
  8. Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve steak bites alongside cheesy smashed potatoes.

Notes

  • Use high heat for steak to achieve a good sear.
  • Do not overcrowd the pan; cook steak in batches if needed.
  • You can add mozzarella or Monterey Jack cheese for extra meltiness.
