A hearty and flavorful dish featuring juicy steak served over cheesy rice with queso sauce, perfect for a comforting and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, sliced thin
- 2 cups cooked white rice
- 1 cup queso dip (or melted cheese sauce)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1/4 cup diced onions
- 1/4 cup diced bell peppers
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
- Lime wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Season steak slices with chili powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add steak slices and cook 3–5 minutes until browned and cooked to desired doneness. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté onions and bell peppers until tender, about 3 minutes.
- Warm the queso dip in a saucepan or microwave until smooth.
- Place cooked rice on serving plates, top with steak and vegetables.
- Drizzle with queso sauce and garnish with cilantro.
- Serve with lime wedges on the side.
Notes
- You can substitute chicken or shrimp for the steak.
- Use brown rice or cauliflower rice for a lighter option.
- Adjust spice level by adding jalapeños or hot sauce.
