Description

Stuffed Seafood Bread Bowl is a comforting and indulgent dish featuring a crusty bread bowl filled with a creamy seafood mixture of shrimp and crab, baked until warm and bubbly.


Ingredients

  • 1 large round sourdough bread loaf
  • 8 oz (225 g) shrimp, peeled, deveined, and chopped
  • 8 oz (225 g) lump crab meat
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut the top off the bread loaf and hollow out the center, leaving a thick shell. Reserve bread pieces.
  3. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat and sauté garlic for 30 seconds.
  4. Add chopped shrimp and cook until pink, about 2–3 minutes.
  5. Lower heat and stir in cream cheese and heavy cream until smooth.
  6. Fold in crab meat, mozzarella, Parmesan, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in parsley.
  8. Spoon seafood mixture into the hollowed bread bowl.
  9. Place bread bowl on a baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes until bubbly.
  10. Serve warm with reserved bread pieces for dipping.

Notes

  • Use fresh or pasteurized crab meat.
  • Do not overcook shrimp before baking.
  • Bread bowl can be wrapped in foil if browning too fast.
  • Can be served as a shared appetizer or light main dish.
