Description

A luxurious surf and turf platter featuring juicy seared steak and tender shrimp, finished with rich garlic herb butter for a restaurant-quality meal at home.


Ingredients

  • 2 beef steaks (ribeye or sirloin, about 250 g each)
  • 300 g large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme or rosemary, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp lemon juice


Instructions

  1. Pat the steaks dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Heat olive oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear steaks for 3–4 minutes per side (or to desired doneness). Remove and rest.
  4. In the same pan, melt butter over medium heat.
  5. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Add shrimp, season lightly with salt and pepper, and cook 2–3 minutes per side until pink.
  7. Stir in parsley, thyme, and lemon juice.
  8. Return steaks to the pan briefly and spoon garlic herb butter over the top.
  9. Serve immediately with extra butter drizzled on the platter.

Notes

  • Let steaks rest before serving to retain juices.
  • Do not overcook shrimp; they cook very quickly.
  • Serve with roasted vegetables or mashed potatoes for a complete meal.
