Description
A rich and flavorful chicken skillet inspired by Texas Roadhouse, featuring tender chicken breasts smothered in a creamy garlic butter sauce with herbs and seasonings.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, divided
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Season chicken breasts with paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Heat olive oil and 2 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear chicken breasts for 5–6 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt remaining butter and sauté garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Stir in chicken broth and bring to a simmer, scraping up browned bits from the pan.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and add heavy cream, Parmesan, and Italian seasoning. Stir until smooth and slightly thickened.
- Return chicken to the skillet, spooning sauce over the top.
- Simmer for 2–3 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
- Garnish with parsley and serve warm with mashed potatoes, rice, or vegetables.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate chicken in buttermilk for a few hours before cooking.
- Adjust sauce thickness by adding more broth for a lighter sauce or more cream for richness.
- Pairs well with warm dinner rolls or garlic bread.
