Description
Fun and festive Rice Krispie treats shaped like turkey legs, made with marshmallows, cereal, and pretzel rods for a playful Thanksgiving dessert.
Ingredients
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 4 cups mini marshmallows
- 3 tbsp butter
- 8–10 pretzel rods
- White chocolate or white candy melts (for “bones”)
- Cooking spray or butter (for hands)
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Melt the butter in a large pot over low heat.
- Add mini marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat and gently fold in the Rice Krispies cereal until fully coated.
- Let the mixture cool slightly, just enough to handle without burning your hands.
- Spray your hands with cooking spray or lightly butter them.
- Take a handful of the mixture and shape it into an oval “turkey leg” form.
- Insert a pretzel rod into one end of the treat to act as the turkey leg bone.
- Melt white chocolate or candy melts and dip the exposed end of the pretzel rod to create the “bone knob.”
- Place on the prepared baking sheet to cool and set.
- Repeat with remaining mixture and pretzel rods. Allow to fully harden before serving.
Notes
- If the mixture sticks too much, reapply butter or spray to your hands.
- Add a splash of vanilla extract to the marshmallow mixture for extra flavor.
- Shape the treats while still warm—once cool, they become harder to mold.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
