Rich, fudgy red velvet brownies with a dramatic bright red center and sweet cream cheese bite marks—perfect for spooky Halloween treats.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp red food coloring
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar.
- Add eggs and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
- Stir in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and red food coloring until combined. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
- In a separate bowl, mix cream cheese and powdered sugar until creamy.
- Pour brownie batter into the pan and smooth the top.
- Add small dollops of the cream cheese mixture, swirling slightly with a toothpick.
- Bake for 22–25 minutes or until set but still fudgy.
- Let cool completely, then use a straw or piping tip to poke two small “bite marks” in each brownie for the vampire effect.
Notes
- For a brighter red color, use gel food coloring.
- Chill brownies before cutting for cleaner slices.
- Add a drizzle of raspberry sauce into the bite marks for a “bloody” effect.
