Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Black food coloring (optional)
- Poppy seeds or sesame seeds for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Roll out puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
- Cut circles to form the hat brims and triangles for the hat tops.
- Place a teaspoon of filling onto each circle.
- Brush edges with egg wash and place a pastry triangle on top to form a hat shape.
- Brush assembled hats with egg wash; tint egg wash with black food coloring if desired.
- Sprinkle with poppy or sesame seeds.
- Bake 12–15 minutes or until puffed and golden.
