Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Black food coloring (optional)
  • Poppy seeds or sesame seeds for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Roll out puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
  4. Cut circles to form the hat brims and triangles for the hat tops.
  5. Place a teaspoon of filling onto each circle.
  6. Brush edges with egg wash and place a pastry triangle on top to form a hat shape.
  7. Brush assembled hats with egg wash; tint egg wash with black food coloring if desired.
