Description

Banana Pudding Stuffed French Toast is a decadent breakfast featuring thick slices of bread filled with creamy banana pudding, dipped in a cinnamon-vanilla custard, and griddled until golden brown.

Ingredients

  • 8 thick slices brioche or Texas toast bread
  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant banana pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 cup whipped topping
  • 2 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Crushed vanilla wafers for garnish
  • Powdered sugar for dusting
  • Maple syrup for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together banana pudding mix and 2 cups cold milk until thickened.
  2. Fold in whipped topping and refrigerate for 5 minutes.
  3. Spread banana pudding mixture on 4 slices of bread.
  4. Top with sliced bananas and cover with remaining bread slices to form sandwiches.
  5. In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, 1/2 cup milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and sugar.
  6. Dip each sandwich into the custard mixture, coating both sides.
  7. Heat butter on a griddle or skillet over medium heat.
  8. Cook sandwiches for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
  9. Transfer to serving plates.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar and sprinkle with crushed vanilla wafers.
  11. Serve warm with maple syrup if desired.

Notes

  • Brioche bread creates the richest texture.
  • Do not overfill the sandwiches to prevent leakage.
  • Serve immediately while warm and crispy.
  • Fresh bananas provide the best flavor.
  • Add caramel sauce for an extra indulgent touch.
