Description

Berry Cream Cheese Danish Bites are flaky, bite-sized pastries filled with sweetened cream cheese and mixed berries, then baked until golden and finished with a light vanilla glaze.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries), chopped if large
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, beat cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Toss berries with cornstarch in a separate bowl.
  4. Roll out puff pastry and cut into 16 equal squares.
  5. Place pastry squares on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Spoon a small amount of cream cheese mixture into the center of each square.
  7. Top with a few berries.
  8. Fold the corners slightly toward the center, leaving the filling visible.
  9. Brush pastry edges with beaten egg.
  10. Bake for 15-18 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  11. Cool slightly on a wire rack.
  12. Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract, then drizzle over the pastries.
  13. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Keep puff pastry cold for the flakiest texture.
  • Fresh or frozen berries can be used; thaw and drain frozen berries first.
  • Do not overfill the pastries to prevent leaking.
  • These are best enjoyed the day they are baked.
  • Add lemon zest to the cream cheese filling for extra brightness.
