Description
Brown Butter Steak & Potato Bake is a rich and comforting dinner featuring tender steak bites and roasted potatoes tossed in nutty brown butter, garlic, and herbs, then baked until golden and flavorful.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 lbs baby Yukon Gold potatoes, halved
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Place butter in a saucepan over medium heat and cook until golden brown and fragrant, about 4-5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in garlic, thyme, rosemary, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- In a large bowl, toss potatoes with olive oil and half of the brown butter mixture.
- Spread potatoes evenly in the baking dish and bake for 20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, toss steak bites with the remaining brown butter mixture.
- Remove the dish from the oven and add steak to the potatoes.
- Stir gently to combine and spread into an even layer.
- Return to the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the steak reaches desired doneness and potatoes are tender.
- Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese during the last 5 minutes of baking if using.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- Sirloin, ribeye, or New York strip steak all work well in this recipe.
- Do not overcook the steak to keep it tender and juicy.
- Cut potatoes into uniform pieces for even roasting.
- Add mushrooms or green beans for extra vegetables.
- Store leftovers refrigerated for up to 3 days.
