Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh or frozen cherries, chopped
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour (for coating cherries)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream or milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Cut in cold butter until the mixture forms coarse crumbs.
- Stir together heavy cream and vanilla extract.
- Add the cream mixture to the dry ingredients and gently mix until a soft dough forms.
- Toss chopped cherries with 1 tablespoon flour.
- Carefully fold the cherries into the biscuit dough.
- Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and pat into a 1-inch-thick rectangle.
- Cut into 8 biscuits and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 14-16 minutes until lightly golden.
- Cool biscuits for 10 minutes.
- Whisk powdered sugar, cream, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Drizzle the vanilla glaze over the biscuits.
