Description
Chicken Bacon Ranch Pasta Stack is a hearty layered pasta bake featuring tender chicken, halal beef bacon, creamy ranch sauce, pasta, and plenty of melted mozzarella and cheddar cheese. This comforting casserole is perfect for family dinners, potlucks, and meal prep.
Ingredients
- 12 oz penne or rotini pasta
- 2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded or diced
- 8 slices halal beef bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan or an 8×8-inch baking dish.
- Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in the milk and heavy cream until smooth.
- Stir in the ranch seasoning, Parmesan cheese, and black pepper. Simmer until slightly thickened.
- Combine the cooked pasta, chicken, half of the mozzarella, half of the cheddar, and half of the beef bacon with the sauce.
- Transfer half of the pasta mixture to the prepared pan, pressing gently to create a layer.
- Sprinkle with some of the remaining cheeses and beef bacon.
- Top with the remaining pasta mixture and finish with the remaining mozzarella and cheddar.
- Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes until hot and bubbly.
- Let stand for 10 minutes before removing from the springform pan or slicing.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve.
Notes
- A springform pan creates a dramatic layered ‘stack’ presentation, but a regular baking dish works just as well.
- Rotisserie chicken is a convenient time-saving option.
- Add spinach or broccoli for extra vegetables.
- Freshly shredded cheese melts more smoothly than pre-shredded cheese.
- Store leftovers refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
