Description

Cinnabon Cinnamon Rolls are soft, fluffy homemade cinnamon rolls filled with buttery brown sugar cinnamon filling and topped with a rich cream cheese frosting. These bakery-style rolls are perfect for breakfast, brunch, holidays, or an indulgent dessert.

Ingredients

  • For the Dough:
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm whole milk (110°F/43°C)
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • For the Filling:
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • For the Cream Cheese Frosting:
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2-3 tablespoons whole milk (if needed for consistency)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast and 1 tablespoon of the sugar in the warm milk. Let stand for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add the remaining sugar, melted butter, egg, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Gradually add the flour and knead for 8-10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, or until doubled in size.
  5. Roll the dough into a 16×12-inch rectangle.
  6. Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough.
  7. Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly over the butter.
  8. Roll the dough tightly from the long side into a log and cut into 12 equal rolls.
  9. Arrange the rolls in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Cover and let rise for 30-45 minutes.
  10. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  11. Bake for 25-30 minutes until lightly golden and cooked through.
  12. Meanwhile, beat together the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth and fluffy.
  13. Spread the frosting generously over the warm cinnamon rolls before serving.

Notes

  • Use warm, not hot, milk to activate the yeast properly.
  • Allow the dough to rise fully for the softest, fluffiest rolls.
  • Pour 1/4 cup heavy cream over the rolls before baking for extra gooey cinnamon rolls.
  • Serve warm for the best texture and flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to 5 days.
