Description

Creamy Garlic Butter Steak & Rice is a rich and comforting one-pan dinner featuring tender steak bites, fluffy rice, and a luscious garlic butter cream sauce. Packed with savory flavor and finished with Parmesan cheese, it’s the perfect hearty weeknight meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 1 1/2 cups long-grain white rice, uncooked
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Season steak bites with half of the salt and black pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add steak and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  4. Reduce heat to medium and melt butter in the same skillet.
  5. Add onion and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  6. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  7. Add rice and cook for 1 minute, stirring frequently.
  8. Pour in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, and remaining salt and pepper.
  9. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low.
  10. Cover and simmer for 18-20 minutes until the rice is tender.
  11. Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until creamy.
  12. Return steak to the skillet and gently combine with the rice.
  13. Cook for 2 minutes until heated through.
  14. Garnish with parsley and green onions before serving.

Notes

  • Sirloin, ribeye, or New York strip steak work well in this recipe.
  • Freshly grated Parmesan melts more smoothly than pre-shredded cheese.
  • Do not overcook the steak during the initial sear.
  • Mushrooms or spinach can be added for extra flavor and nutrition.
  • Store leftovers refrigerated for up to 3 days.
