Ingredients
- 2 lbs large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Arrange the shrimp in a single layer in the prepared baking dish.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter with the olive oil.
- Add the garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in the Italian seasoning, paprika, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Whisk in the Parmesan cheese until smooth, then stir in the Dijon mustard and lemon juice.
- Pour the creamy garlic Parmesan sauce evenly over the shrimp.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the top.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- For a golden top, broil for 2-3 minutes if desired.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and basil before serving.
Notes
- Do not overbake the shrimp, as they cook quickly and can become rubbery.
- Freshly grated Parmesan creates the smoothest, richest sauce.
- Add spinach, mushrooms, or sun-dried tomatoes for extra flavor and texture.
- Serve over pasta, rice, mashed potatoes, or with toasted garlic bread.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
