Description

Creamy Garlic Parmesan Shrimp Bake is a rich and comforting seafood casserole featuring tender shrimp baked in a creamy garlic Parmesan sauce with melted mozzarella and herbs. This easy one-pan dinner is perfect for serving over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Arrange the shrimp in a single layer in the prepared baking dish.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter with the olive oil.
  4. Add the garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Stir in the Italian seasoning, paprika, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  6. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
  7. Whisk in the Parmesan cheese until smooth, then stir in the Dijon mustard and lemon juice.
  8. Pour the creamy garlic Parmesan sauce evenly over the shrimp.
  9. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the top.
  10. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  11. For a golden top, broil for 2-3 minutes if desired.
  12. Garnish with fresh parsley and basil before serving.

Notes

  • Do not overbake the shrimp, as they cook quickly and can become rubbery.
  • Freshly grated Parmesan creates the smoothest, richest sauce.
  • Add spinach, mushrooms, or sun-dried tomatoes for extra flavor and texture.
  • Serve over pasta, rice, mashed potatoes, or with toasted garlic bread.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
