Ingredients
- 1 lb potato gnocchi
- 6 oz halal beef pepperoni slices, halved
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the gnocchi according to the package directions until they float. Drain and set aside.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the halal beef pepperoni and cook for 2-3 minutes until lightly crisp. Remove half for garnish, leaving the rest in the skillet.
- Reduce the heat to medium and melt the butter.
- Add the garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in the Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Pour in the heavy cream and milk, bringing the mixture to a gentle simmer.
- Whisk in the Parmesan cheese until smooth.
- Stir in half of the mozzarella cheese until melted.
- Add the cooked gnocchi and toss gently to coat in the Alfredo sauce.
- Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella over the top, cover for 2-3 minutes until melted, or broil for 2 minutes for a golden finish.
- Top with the reserved crispy halal beef pepperoni, parsley, basil, and crushed red pepper flakes if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Freshly grated Parmesan produces the smoothest Alfredo sauce.
- Pan-searing the gnocchi before adding the sauce creates a delicious crispy exterior.
- Add spinach, mushrooms, or sun-dried tomatoes for extra flavor and nutrition.
- Use low heat when adding cheese to prevent the sauce from separating.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
