Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs

- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 2 tablespoons instant espresso powder
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 8 oz mascarpone cheese, softened

- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder for dusting
- Chocolate shavings for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, cream butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Mix in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and espresso powder.
- Add dry ingredients alternately with milk, mixing until just combined.
- Spread batter evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow cake to cool completely.
- In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, and brewed espresso until smooth and creamy.
- Spread the mascarpone mixture evenly over the cooled cake.
- Dust generously with cocoa powder.
- Garnish with chocolate shavings if desired.
- Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.

- Mascarpone should be at room temperature for the smoothest topping.
