Ingredients

  • 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla bean paste
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon coarse sugar (optional)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Unroll one can of crescent dough and press it into the bottom of the baking dish, sealing any seams.
  3. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth.
  4. Add egg, vanilla bean paste, vanilla extract, and flour. Mix until fully combined.
  5. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough layer.
  6. Unroll the second can of crescent dough and place it over the filling, pinching seams together.
  7. Brush the top with melted butter and sprinkle with coarse sugar if desired.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and set.
  9. Allow the bake to cool for 15 minutes.
  10. Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to create the glaze.
  11. Drizzle the glaze over the warm Danish bake.
  12. Slice into squares and serve.
